Atlanta Bully Rescue (ABR)
ABR takes in strays from South and East Atlanta, specializing in pit bulls and other bully breeds. They have them spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, vaccinated, and microchipped and then they find them loving, forever homes. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application.
ABR keeps dogs until they are adopted by approved homes. On average it takes at least 6 months to find the adults homes. Donations for their care is greatly appreciated and enables us to rescue more dogs.
There's alot of debate about the actual names of pit bull colors and proper breeds. In Georgia Pit bulls are a favorite of backyard breeders who come up with all sorts of names for their pits. In our descriptions, we are simply describing their colors. In no way are we stating that they are from certain blood lines. We do get dogs surrendered that are papered, but most often times we are guessing a what breed a dog is and sometimes we consult other dog experts on their opinions as well.

Hellcat Leathers
http://hellcatleathers.wordpress.com/ & http://www.myspace.com/hellcatleathers Hellcat Leathers is an East Atlanta business that is going to start donating dog harnesses to help ABRA with training rescued pits. They handcraft all sorts of awesome items from genuine leather including great gift ideas like jewelry and pet collars. Please click on their websites and help support a local business that helps ABRA rescue strays in the Atlanta area. ABRA feels it's important to spend alot of time training their rescues and harnesses are an essential part. The majority of the older dogs we have rescued have come in with wounds around their necks from being chained outside. These wounds have to be treated and often we can not put collars around them until they heal. Hellcat Leathers has offered to donate harnesses for these dogs so we can put ID tags on them and put them on a leash comfortably for adoption days and training.
